This demo version of “The Last Three Human Words” runs just over 5 minutes, but captures the intimacy of Jason’s entire catalog perfectly well. MJ Lenderman’s cover of “Just Be Simple” brings a fresh urgency to the song, blending its twangy confessions with bursts of full-band energy.
