The Story

VAMPYRE HC A COSTA RICAN FOLKTALE
(W) RICARDO DELGADO (A) RICARDO DELGADO (C) RICARDO DELGADO
CLOVER PRESS
StockID: 174858 SKU: 0326CP0541

Set in the same world as Delgado's DRACULA OF TRANSYLVANIA- VAMPYRE: A HORROR FOLKTALE is a vampiric supernatural prose tale set in 1940s Costa Rica. It's part folktale- part autobiographic and is told in both English and Spanish. Inspired by the classic 1980s illustrated novella CYCLE OF THE WEREWOLF by Stephen King and Bernie Wrightson- this bilingual story is both a gruesome tale of the occult and a touching depiction of mid-century Costa Rican life. A beautiful hardcover- it includes over 250 pages crammed with historical maps- creature designs and photos of actual locations from the story both then and now. It's also a historical perspective of Delgado's parents' lives in the small town in Costa Rica where they grew up- but with the fictional (or is it?) horror element of a vampire added in.
